Loving right now: By Terry Baume De Rose lipgloss, Whittard of Chelsea teas, Zoeva brushes, Yes Nurse hand cream

A few things I've been loving recently, starting off with the By Terry Baume De Rose in lip gloss form. I love the original Baume De Rose in the pot but it's really nice to have it in a user friendly wand applicator with colour. If you've been put off by the pot, this is a great way of trying out this cult product. I do find these different in texture to the original though but I don't mind it. Something else that is really impressive is the Yes Nurse intensive moisturising hand cream. A lovely balmy texture that soothes and protects hard working hands or hands that require a little extra tlc. The packaging is gorgeous and so hype worthy. Another brand that is getting a lot of praise is Zoeva and rightly…

A few thoughts on some recent finds.

The result of watching too much QVCUK lately has resulted in all sorts of hauling, including the Code VLM mascara. I'm a sucker for mascaras and the live demo was really impressive. So I ordered the mini size of it. The mascara is decent at separating and doesn't flake but it doesn't do anything for me. It is solely being used for the bottom lashes due to its small brush ( as its a mini size, the brush is tiny ) and it quite nicely defines my bottom lashes. On my top lashes I like it as big as it can get it, and this despite the claims doesn't build any volume. For me at least. Next is the Lilybeth brow shaper. I don't use this on my brows, I can't seem to grasp…

Lipstick Diaries: Bite Beauty, Kat Von D, Edward Bess, Lime Crime, Nudestix, Kevin Aucoin, Sephora

Lip products are my kryptonite, it's the one product that really gets me excited about makeup more than anything else. Here are a few products worth me ranting about. Edward Bess Lasting Kiss enhancing lip stain in Au Naturel  A lovely long wearing liquid lipstick by Edward Bess in a bright pink colour. The name is a bit misleading, there's nothing natural about this shade, in fact its a very bright pink. The formula is amazing, opaque in one swipe and very long lasting. Not quite a stain but more of the liquid paint type formula. Kat Von D lipstick in Lovecraft  Another much loved shade, this lipstick is almost always out of stock everywhere. A semi matte finish and warm rosy colour makes it very appealing to almost everyone. Can't go wrong with…

The Gift With Purchase question, is it worth it? Harrods, Space NK, Cult Beauty recent gift with purchase

Are gift with purchase splurges worth it? We've all been there, happily going about our day when we get that email or reminder through the post and somehow we have made an order, products mysteriously end up in our basket and we've clicked on the "confirm order" button. So are they worth it? Yes and no. Yes in the case if you stock up on your necessities, things you know you are going to use up, yes in the case of if you've had your eye on a number of things for a while but couldn't quite brave through checkout. Then it totally makes sense to go for it as you get to try a lot of free minis and new items, especially since the most recent ones were so good. And no if…

Givenchy Le Rouge A Porter in 106 Parme Silhouette

I am obsessed with this lipstick by Givenchy, the new Le Rouge A Porter. I'm almost done with my first tube! When these first came out I did my usual eye roll at the fact that Givenchy were also trying to milk in on this new balm lipstick thing that everyone is doing. However this is different, the texture is a dream. It's not too glossy or gloopy, like some can be. This hugs your lips in a balmy colourful velvety way. The fragrance is rather unique, I can't think of a way to describe it, but it smells like it feels, velvet. Imagine a moist velvet rose petal. I just want to reapply over and over so I can have that feeling. I am addicted to this which is rather worrying, as I'm nearly at…

LA Splash Cosmetics Lip Couture

LA Splash cosmetics are all over Instagram, for all the right reasons. Especially their liquid lip paints. These are budge proof lipsticks that go on liquid and dry to a matte finish. Once dry they won't move until you remove them. They remove with any oil based waterproof makeup remover (think Lancome Bi Facil). I've played around with these and they are at their most long wearing when applied to clean lips. If you apply over lip balm they don't last. So to get the best use out of them apply to dry lips. This can be a problem if you (like me) have sore or very dry lips, as this will emphasize the flaky bits. So good lip preparation is a must. For me these are not a daily lip product but great…
