A few thoughts on some recent finds.

The result of watching too much QVCUK lately has resulted in all sorts of hauling, including the Code VLM mascara. I'm a sucker for mascaras and the live demo was really impressive. So I ordered the mini size of it. The mascara is decent at separating and doesn't flake but it doesn't do anything for me. It is solely being used for the bottom lashes due to its small brush ( as its a mini size, the brush is tiny ) and it quite nicely defines my bottom lashes. On my top lashes I like it as big as it can get it, and this despite the claims doesn't build any volume. For me at least. Next is the Lilybeth brow shaper. I don't use this on my brows, I can't seem to grasp…

Givenchy Noir Couture Mascara

Givenchy's newest mascara was launched with quite a buzz. It was described as a 4 in 1 mascara for volume, length, curl. It also promises to strengthen your lashes. The brush is unique and I couldn't wait to try it. I have to say I have been extremely disappointed in this mascara. It doesn't lengthen or thicken. It goes on very thinly and clumps really quickly. My Loreal mascara does better than this! If it did even one of the ( lengthen, curl, thicken, strengthen ) things it claims, it would be fine. I will not be repurchasing.

YSL Shocking Mascara in Black

I've always loved YSL Faux Cils mascara, it's always done good for me because it's never moved until I take it off. So when I ran out I thought I'd try the shocking version. And I love it! I usually put on about 2 to 3 coats but with this mascara you cannot do that, because when you do (as I did) you end up with about 4 lashes! The trick is to get it done quickly in one coat before it dries on the lashes. If you like your lashes defined and looking natural then this is not for you, if you like them dramatic and clumpy like me then this is the one! Below is a before and after and a closer look at the brush. Price is £23 from all major retailers.
