LA Splash Cosmetics Lip Couture

LA Splash cosmetics are all over Instagram, for all the right reasons. Especially their liquid lip paints. These are budge proof lipsticks that go on liquid and dry to a matte finish. Once dry they won't move until you remove them. They remove with any oil based waterproof makeup remover (think Lancome Bi Facil). I've played around with these and they are at their most long wearing when applied to clean lips. If you apply over lip balm they don't last. So to get the best use out of them apply to dry lips. This can be a problem if you (like me) have sore or very dry lips, as this will emphasize the flaky bits. So good lip preparation is a must. For me these are not a daily lip product but great…

Current Hair Care Rotation

A round up of products I'm currently using on my hair. I have very fine hair, and not much of it. I struggle to get volume with anything really, so I've given up looking for products that give me volume. There are a few products though that do give texture and a bit of oomph for when I want a certain look ( which isn't often, think special occasions.) Philip B has been my favourite hair care range recently, especially when it comes to shampoo. I've been trying out various shampoos as I'm still without a holy grail shampoo. Philip B Russian Amber Imperial Shampoo: Smells like heaven, leaves hair soft and shiny. A staple for the moment. Oribe Conditioner for Brilliance & Shine: Doesn't weigh hair down and gives a good shine. My…

Guerlain, Sleek, Creme de la Mer.

Some products you just don't get on with despite trying very hard to. Here are a few that have been misses for me. First up this beautiful palette by Guerlain in 93 Rue de Passy. The shades in this are beautiful and universally flattering. This is the palette where you would use up all the shades. Except I won't as I find them very difficult to blend. They go on very streaky and scratchy, with hardly any pigment. Such a pity as I normally love Guerlain products.       I've been really disappointed with this Sleek palette. The colours are beautiful but have no depth to them, they go on very sheer on the eyes even with primer. Considering they are bright shades instead of nudes, you would expect them to…

Kiko Milano lip products

Kiko Milano cosmetics has to be the best discovery of 2015 for me so far. The range has amazing quality items at affordable prices. The entire range is huge with various textures in each product. There are 21 types of products for lips alone! The price point is what stood out to me, very very affordable. You would think that for such a low price point somewhere the brand will have skimped, but that is not the case. The creamy lipstick for example, has a futuristic case that is simply stunning. The quality of the lip products is just as good as any similar type of product triple its price range. The creamy lipstick in 502 , a nude shade is wonderfully creamy and goes on streak free. The unlimited stylo is a matte…

Delilah Cosmetics lipstick in Honesty

British boutique brand Delilah is new to the vast market of cosmetics, but is a worthy addition. Available in luxurious spas across the country like for example, The Sessions House in Yorkshire, and boutiques like Space NK, the brand takes pride in English culture. Britannia metal, Crown gold and the Delilah rose combined with state of the art textures make up the range. I picked up a few pieces from the collection including one of their Colour Intense Cream Lipsticks in Honesty. It takes a lot for a lipstick to impress me these days, what with all the wonderful options available, but this really blew most of them away. The colour you see in the tube is the colour it will be on your lips, thick luxurious full coverage along with long staying power.…
